Maija had her dance recital last night. She takes dance/tumbling classes once a week from Ms. Melissa. We were all quite surprised to see how flexible she has turned out this fall.

BENEFITS OF EARLY MORNING SEMINARY
...beautiful sunrises!
There are many things I do not find particularly attractive here in desert, but they do have beautiful sunset and sunrises.
I am up at 5 am every school morning, so I do get to wake up with the sun. This morning it looked like the sky was on fire, I had to go outside, wearing my robe, with my camera. Hopefully the neighbors were still asleep.
DARLING CHRISTMAS TREE
I saw these darling christmas trees on pinterest.com. I did some research and found another person who had posted directions how to make them. I had to give it a try!
I love my tree!
We have it standing in our foyer, and I made some Danish woven hearts and Christmas Coronets to decorate the tree. Maija filled the Coronets with chocolates...and voila! Now we have a nice little treat to give our visitors as a Christmas present.
I liked this so much that I decided to make some center piece size ones as presents for my friends, and decorate them with quotes from General Conference.
And to keep my wood work hobby going, I got myself a nice Christmas present.
CHILLY DAY CALLS FOR A HOT BUBBLE BATH
Yesterday was windy and chilly!
Since our sauna is not built yet Niko resorted to the next best thing...a hot bubble bath. He did go little grazy with bubbles.
Once he turned the jets on we had bubbles everywhere.
TIRED CHAIR
Years ago Jason bought me an office chair. He even took my sister shopping with him to make sure he would get the most comfortable chair for me . He had her test the chairs out. Well...it has been about 15 years since the chair was bought. Although it is still confortable, it was definetely looking outdated and tired.
It needed a facelift!
I got this darling material from the local Home Fabrics store. It was a steal for $3/yard! I bought couple of yeards of fabric, went home and covered the chair the same day. It turned out great!
I even had left over fabric to cover some old pillows, and bought the striped fabric, also for $3/yard, to complement the chair fabric.
TIME FOR "PIKKUJOULU"
There just is not a right translation for "pikkujoulu". When I looked it up from dictionary, it said "Christmas Party", but it just does not sound the same...nevertheless...this is the season for Christmas parties.
Last Saturday was busy..in a good way. We were invited to one of Jason's client's Christmas brunch. Lot's of good food got us started for the day. Even Santa and his wive were in attendance, and kids got to tell Santa what they were wishing for Christmas.
Niko took this opportunuty to tell Santa that he would like to get a flat screen tv to his own room...unfortunately Santa has to adhere to the rules of our household...meaning...that will never happen!
Earlier that morning I had visited The Foothill High School Craft Fair, which was benefitting our marching band. I bought few raffle tickets...and low behold...while were were driving home from the brunch I received a phone call that I had won some Tastefully Simple products...cake mixes and some dipping oil.
It is always fun win!
The highlight of the day was our ward Christmas Party. We ate good food, again...watched Christmas Nativity, Primary kids were singing us some Christmas songs...and Maija even got to visit Santa...again....
Pretty, clever center piece
Niko...you are suppose to stand still with your jingle bell, until it is time to sing!!!

LEAVES FALL...
...we finally have somewhat of a fall here in desert. Enough so, that we had to do some raking, and gathering leaves...some of us worked more than others...but it was all fun...
after work, we watched President Monson's Christmas devotional talk...
we were reminded to celebrate Christmas season by being kind...especially to the lonely and elderly...
we joined the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for Joy to the Wold.
After food for the soul we went to a local pizzeria for nourishment for our bodies.
I love the Christmas season.
It makes me try little harder to bring happiness and family fun into our home, and makes me think of ideas how to share it with others.
