Last few weeks have been a real whirlwind.
It seems that there has been an endless amount of end-of-the-school year concerts, events, soccer tournaments, basket ball games, parties, ect...ect...
It has been fun...
yet a bit chaotic.
In the midst of this all we have been trying to
finalize our Finland and Jackson Hole trips.
Getting Niko ready for his Cub Scout Arrow of Light Award,
finalize Kai's Eagle Scout project,
as well as get Markus ready for his driver's license test.
Making final plans for Markus' and Kai's EFY week
and plan out Tuachan weekend coming up.
Whew....keeps life interesting...that is for sure.
Here are some of the snapshots of May
Maija wanted to play soccer this season, so we signed her up.
She joined a team called Mad Hatters.
They had little bit of a rough season, loosing nearly every game,
while trying to figure out the basics of soccer playing.
In the end they did figure it out!
The team participated in the tournament over the Memorial Day weekend, and the girls surprised us all by winning their first game,
and tying the next two games, only to loose in the shoot out.
We were so proud of them.
Come fall I expect them to have a great second season!
Jason has been coaching Niko's team for several season, and they had a fantastic season this spring. They won all their games but couple of them. Which was a huge change from last season, when they lost every game. We have never done the tournament before, mainly because it has been held on Sunday in the past.
This year the tournament was held on Memorial Day weekend...on Friday, Saturday and Monday. It was the consensus of all the parents and players to do the tournament...and the boys did great.
They played their hearts out, giving all they had.
It was a hot day and they had two games both Saturday and Monday.
They ended up taking a second place!
What a great ending to the great season.
We were so proud of them!
Ice blocking in the park.
This is how we do sledding in the desert.
We buy a block of ice from the store, find a grassy hill and...down we go...
Every May Jason participates to the Father and Sons campout with our boys.
Our church organizes it.
It is one of Maija's favorite events.
Because it means when the boys are gone, we will go out and do fun girly things.
This time we went out to eat with some of our friends and then we did
a little shopping
and hanging out afterwards.
Last day of the month.
Markus had his Band Awards Banquet.
He received his pin to his letter to recognize his hard work throughout his school year.
It was a celebration of a successful year in the band program.
Last but not least.
I learned something new this May.
I did not know that artichokes, if left unharvested will have such stunning flowers!
