When we arrived home we had some great things and not-so-great things welcoming us.
Good news first.
While gone, we had had some home improvement work going on in our house.
It was exciting to return home
and have all this done while we had been gone.
A great welcome back!
First, our built-in-entertainment unit had been painted, and the doors had been switched.

I still need to find the cabinet pulls. I have something specific in mind.
The trouble is that I have not yet found what I am looking for,
but I am sure eventually I will.
Until then I will just admire the new paint and the doors and drawers.
The second good things was completion of the cubbies and shelving in our sauna bathroom.
I LOVE these!
Just think of all the reading material we can fit into these shelves :)
And now the BAD news.
Scooby had decided to destroy our door from the backyard to garage.
I can not imagine why he did this!
And just when we thought that we were nearing end with our home improvement projects!
Looks like we need to get an entire new door AND the frame replaced!
Ugh!
And last but not least
This makes me almost cry!
Everyday I look out of my den window!
While we were gone, this monstrosity had gone up right across from our cul-de-sac.
I am sure the people building the house and moving in
will be wonderful,
but why in the world do they need such a large house...
and the roof is not even up yet.
One can only hope it will be a flat roof!
Well...nothing I can do about that one, only to get used to it, I guess.
It is still nice to be back. I guess we need to take the good with the bad...that is how it usually goes.
