MAIJA ON FINLAND

One of Maija's school assignments
was to learn about one of the countries her ancestors came from.
She naturally chose Finland, being half Finnish herself.

On a day of presentation she wore Jason's Finnish hockey jersey
and a hat from Lapland, called Neljan Tuulen Hattu (A Hat of Four Winds)

She also prepared for her presentation by making some Pulla (Finnish bread) a night before.
After her presentation everybody got to taste Pulla.
It was a big hit.

She also taught her class how to play "Afrikan Tahti" (Star of Africa),
a Finnish board game my kids have always loved to play.
