The first day of 2014
was a beautiful, sunny and calm.
No wind.
We decided to start the day with a hike.
We chose the Historic Railroad Trail hike.
It is about 3 mile hike. We parked our vans at a Hotel parking lot.
The trail goes along the rim of Lake Mead and through about 6 tunnels they used to build the Hoover Dam.
We ended our hike to the bridge that connects Nevada to Arizona.
After the hike, we awarded ourselves by going to Metro Pizza for lunch.
What a good way to start a new year!

Grnadpa picked up dads from the brigge and then drove them back to our vans.
Then the guys came back to pick us all up...that way we did not have to hike UPHILL back to the cars.
Lazy way of hiking.
