Doggy Door

Past several years, Scooby has been sleeping in our garage.
We just kept the door open from the backyard to garage, and he could get in and out by himself.
Around Christmas time we ran into some rat problem.
Basically we saw a huge rat in the garage, and it chewd up some wires in my van, costing us around $350 in repairs.
It also chewed up some extension cords and a heavy duty hose.

That was it.
Scooby, and his food got kicked out of the garage.

I had to find another place for him to sleep in and the best one seemed to be the landing from the backyard to basement.
I did not want the door open 24/7 though, so I decided that we would need a doggy door.

After some research, I decided that it would be easy enough to install by myself.

What would be the worst thing if I messed up?
I would have to get a new door, so I decided that it was a risk worth taking.

Well...here is our new doggy door.

Cutting the metal door was quite an experience with a jig saw...especially since I did not want to take the door of its hinges.

Five blades later we had a new doggy door installed.

And we even caught the rat!
